It´s not that there´s nothing to write, rather, there´s so many things that happen every single week that it´s stressful trying to decide what to share. Some stories are just way too long to write and don´t make sense in English. Others are things that maybe nobody else will appreciate, small miracles that help me feel the love of my Savior more powerfully in the work. But we are currently working with a miracle that I want to share with everyone. *rewind 7 days*
Wednesday. Hanging out with Elder Hair and Elder Barfuss, Elder Hair making some delicious food for the 4 of us. Our phone goes off...a reference! Woo! A couple named Jacquelyn and Oscar. Sweet. They were contacted in a subway, they´re interested. We call their number and set an appoinment for Thursday.
Thursday. Shoot! They don´t live in our half of the sector, they live in the part of the other 2 elders in the ward.Oh boy. Too good to be true. We pass the reference...and the other elders say, "we got this same reference like a month ago...they told us to not come back anymore." They gave us permission to give it a shot. Sweet :) we go by in the night, have a good lesson! set up an appointment to come back on Sunday.
Sunday. Go by in the night, they´re still there! Woo. We teach the Plan of Salvation, have a great lesson as we taught about The Savior and His Atonement, and His ability to forgive and strengthen us as we turn to Him. Such a great lesson, ahh. The Spirit was so strong! We invite Oscar to be baptized, and Jacquleyn (inactive) to prepare to worthily take the Sacrament. They both eagerly accept the invitation!! We´re getting ready to leave, and ask if they have any questions or concerns. Jacquelyn says yes. Oh boy. Too good to be true. "I just feel like God isn´t happy with us. We´re living together and aren´t married. Can you guys help us get married? Can you give us marriage classes?"
WHAT!!!! Woo!! You´ve never seen a more excited, unqualified marriage instructor.
Tuesday (yesterday). We go back. Teach the Restoration. Super interested now. Oscar read the whole chapter of Alma 8, and is taking notes and writing scriptures down as we teach. Totally wants to join the church! Committed to keep praying together and keep reading The Book of Mormon together.
Miracles! Miracles AREN´T too goo to be true :) maybe sometimes I am hesitant to hope for miracles, because I have hoped for so many miracles on my mission that I feel like never came through. It hurts when you´re hoping for a miracle and it doesn´t happen. Less painful and easier to just stop hoping for miracles and expect for the worst...then be pleasantly surprised when something good comes around. But that is The Devil´s logic. Being cynical and skeptical is easy, anybody can do it. Christ´s example teaches me to put my whole heart, might, mind and strength into His work. Hope for the best, work for the best, get excited for the best...and if it doesn´t work out, that´s okay. Christ knows how that feels. After all, He DID give ALL He had for me...and sometimes He doesn´t see a whole lot of results.

I love The Lord. I will keep trying to be positive and continue hoping for miracles, even if that might mean some level of hurt and disappointment in the future.
